I R W I N K E Y E S ... AND THE FACE BELONGS TO...
Many people remember the face. Others remember the many varied unusual
characters he has played in Film and Television. Some even remember the
actual lines of quirky dialogue Irwin has spoken. One thing is for sure,
Irwin’s acting gets etched forever in your mind. The bottom line
is that Mr. Keyes has had a long, varied, and award winning career in
Film, Television, and Commercials.
And what does Irwin do best? He simply “MAKES
EACH MOMENT SPECIAL.” The solid six-foot, 250-pound actor didn’t
originally plan a career in acting. “IT JUST HAPPENED!” After
years of hard work in the New York theater, Hollywood “called him”!
From the Disney comedies, “THE PRIZEFIGHTER” and “THE
PRIVATE EYES,” it was right into the TV’s #1 show of the
day, the unforgettable comedy, “THE JEFFERSON'S.” A recurring
role as Hugo the dumb Bodyguard has found itself into peoples’ hearts
even to this very day!
Along the way his career has included numerous
National and International commercials. Included are top Super bowl spots,
many majo corporate ads, and of course Clio/Monte Carlo award winners!
Mr. Keyes’ more recent films include the Coen Brothers Comedy smash
hit, “INTOLERABLE CRUELTY.” In it he does a gutwrenching
comic death scene as the asthmatic hit man Wheezy Joe that critics worldwide
have singled out as “the funniest scene in film in the year 2003.” In
this year he also is remembered for his action sequences in the BEST
HORROR FILM Of The Year “HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES.”
Mr. Keyes
has a resume filled with many Horror genre characters, Western gunslingers,
Gangsters, and all sorts of “unusual” acting parts. When
not acting he is a successful painter of impressionist watercolors and
writer.
His philosophy about acting is simple. “BE TRUE TO EVERY
ROLE AND THE AUDIENCE WILL ALWAYS BE ON YOUR SIDE.” Well it goes
without saying, the audience has always been on Irwin Keyes side!”
